His brother cat became a messenger!
Last month, a man named Scott Ewel mourned the loss of his beloved cat, Bear. Bear was involved in a nasty car accident, and passed away instantly.
This was a shock to Scott, who allowed Bear to roam freely as an outdoor cat. He and his feline brother, Teddy, would go in and out of their kitty-door as and when they pleased.
However, Scott was oblivious to the fact that the duo were actually regulars at one of his neighbors’ home! Scott had actually thought his cats were outside exploring – but instead, they were bonding with another stranger!
Two weeks after Bear’s devastating death, a note was found attached to Teddy’s collar when he returned to Scott. Scott opens the mysterious message, and he was moved to find out that he was never alone in his love for Bear.
The note read: “Dear Owner; I’m your neighbor, living in (unit) 4. I’m also your cats’ close friends as they are used to coming to my room everyday.
But one of them (Bear), a bigger one has disappeared for two weeks. Is he OK? I’m so worried about him. He is so lovely cat and always touched my heart. Wish he is fine.”
Scott immediately wrote back, explaining that Bear had passed away. In his reply note, he expressed that he was “so glad” that Bear had brought joy to their lives as well. Scott’s new neighbor is actually a Taiwanese exchange student, who was attending classes at a nearby university.
Whenever she was working on her university thesis, the cats would come by – and she would read her thesis aloud to them. This makes Bear’s death even more “poignant”, according to Scott.
Now, Scott and his neighbor have bonded. His favorite past time was to go through the various photos of Bear and Teddy she had taken, and hearing stories of their adventures.
Its the best way ever to remember Bear – via a new friendship!
