A litter of seven newborn puppies were abandoned in the most cruel manner possible. All of them were thrown in a dumpster and were left to fend for themselves, which was of course not possible having in mind their umbilical cords were still attached.
The good thing is that a passerby spotted them and alerted The Pet Network Humane Society who acted just in time to give them a chance to live.
They needed round the clock care, but the staff at the rescue were more than willing to spend their time and energy nurturing these cute little babies.
The caring volunteers bottle-fed them every couple of hours as they were still very tiny and fragile.
In fact, these puppies were so small that they could fit the palm of their rescuers.
Once they are old enough, all of them, three males and four females, will be neutered and micro-chipped. Hopefully, they will be adopted by loving families when the time comes.
After a couple of days at the shelter, the puppies opened their eyes.
At the time they were dumped, the adorable canines were just two days old, so they won’t remember they had a rough start early in life.
“All of them are healthy and looking great,” Pet Network spokeswoman, Brittney Schilpp said speaking to The Associated Press.
“They’re chubby and walking around. We’re no stranger to the scenario and lucky to have such a strong volunteer base to care for them.”
“I love them to death. It will be hard to see them go,” one of the vets under whose care the puppies were said.
Pet Network Humane Society did an amazing thing nurturing the puppies to health. Only if there were more people like them, this world would be a much better place.
